The painting sector and related industries discharge paint rinse water contaminated with nanoplastics and heavy metals on a daily basis. Pollution that remains far too much under the radar to this day. At the moment, painting tools such as brushes, rollers, airless pumps, and even cleaning cloths are still too often cleaned at the client or in the studio of the painting company. The polluted paint rinse water ends up in the sewer system and thus in the surface water and our drinking water. Clean Water Global offers a simple and sustainable solution for the purification of contaminated paint rinse water.


With the rinse water return formula, Clean Water Global collects the rinse water of water-based paint from painting companies and purifies the rinse water via a rinse and filter system, specially adapted for the paint industry. It is a cradle-to-cradle system in which the solid matter is separated from the paint rinse water. The recovered solid raw material can be reused, and the water is further purified by natural

filtration systems.

Handing in and collecting contaminated paint material

Contaminated paint material (rollers, brushes, rinsing water) will be handed in and collected. For example, the painter can take his contaminated paint material to Clean Water Global (or to a cooperating paint wholesaler).

Purification of polluted rinse water

The rinsing machine and rinsing table purify the contaminated paint material and separate the solid matter from the contaminated rinsing water. The machine can filter up to 800 L of polluted water per hour.

Reuse of paint material, solid matter and pure water

Rinsed rollers and brushes are reused, the recovered solids are recycled by the manufacturer and the purified water is returned to nature.
